Mozilla, the developer of the popular Internet browser Firefox, jumped into the Web3 development space and metaverse space with the acquisition of Active Replica, according to the company.Announced in a blog poston November 30
Active Replicas will join Mozilla’s Hubs creator platform to help create virtual events. According to Mozilla, this acquisition will be important in a number of ways, including adding new features to Hubs engines.
Mozilla says the two companies will benefit from each other. Including each other’s development capabilities: “We see this as a significant opportunity to bring more innovation and creativity to Hubs than we could do alone.”
In an official statement, Active Replica reiterated that it will continue to work with existing partners. But the Mozilla acquisition extends its long-term goals.
