Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane is dead. He died at the age of 72 in a hospital in his native Scotland, according to his agent, Belinda Wright. Coltrane was born Anthony Robert McMillan on March 30, 1950 and later took his name in homage to jazz saxophonist Jon Coltrane.
Coltrane rose to fame as a detective in the 1990s series Cracker, for which he won Best Actor at the British Academy Television Awards three years running. He played Eddie Fitzgerald in the crime series Just In Case Fitz and an ex-KGB agent in the James Bond films GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough.
World famous with “Harry Potter”
