Mourning for actors: Heinz Baumann is dead

Heinz Baumann has become popular as a crime actor, particularly in the TV series “Adelheid und her Mörder” and “Soko 5113”. Now the actor died a few weeks after his 95th birthday.

The actor Heinz Baumann has died. The artist agency Hahlweg announced on behalf of the family that he had already fallen asleep peacefully in Munich last Saturday. Baumann was 95 years old. He leaves behind a daughter and a son.

Baumann was particularly known as a crime actor, but started his career as a theater actor on numerous German stages, including the Munich Kammerspiele. He made his feature film debut in 1960 alongside Liselotte Pulver in the comedy Das Spukschloss im Spessart. From 1987 he determined in the ZDF-Series “Soko 5113” first as chief inspector, later as private detective Jürgen Sudmann.

A detective with wise support

In 1993 he also participated in the ARD on the trail of crooks and villains. In “Adelheid and her Mörder”, Baumann played the somewhat distracted chief inspector Ewald Strobel alongside Evelyn Hamann, who was only able to solve his cases with the help of his resourceful secretary Adelheid. For this role he received the Bavarian Television Prize in 2002. The series ended in 2007 after Hamann’s death from cancer.

In the role of Chief Inspector Ewald Strobel, Baumann caused a lot of smiles.

Baumann had a daughter with the comedian Beatrice Richter in 1978, Judith Richter, who also became an actress and is known for numerous TV productions. The actor also leaves behind a son. Baumann turned 95 on February 12.
