Motorists refuel less since the Ukraine war – Bavaria

According to statistics, Bavarian drivers fueled less in March after the start of the Ukraine war. As the State Office for Statistics announced on Tuesday, sales at petrol stations increased by more than a fifth (22.4 percent) compared to March 2021. But that was solely due to the sharp rise in petrol prices: Adjusted sales at petrol stations fell by 10.4 percent. After the Russian attack on Ukraine, petrol and diesel prices skyrocketed to more than two euros per liter. Adjusted for inflation, sales at petrol stations were also significantly lower than in March 2020 and March 2019, according to the state office.
