In the 43-year-old murder case of Sonja Hurler, the Kempten police have now taken the majority of saliva samples from men who, according to the current investigation approach, are possible suspects. Around 300 men who lived near the spot where the 13-year-old girl disappeared at the time of the crime asked the officials to provide a saliva sample as part of a series of investigations.
According to the police, with one exception, all men who currently live in and around Kempten im Allgäu have volunteered to take part. “For the men who live outside this area today, a single-digit number of men are still pending feedback,” said a police spokesman on Tuesday. Nothing can yet be said about the results of the samples that have already been carried out. The police are still waiting for the laboratory results.
The series investigation got rolling after the police were able to secure new DNA evidence in the case at the end of November last year. Sonja Hurler disappeared in Kempten in 1981. After an argument with her mother, she set off on foot to her grandmother’s house at night. The girl never got there. The body was later found near a barn. The girl was the victim of a sexual predator.
