The terrorist organization “Islamic State” (IS) claims to show the alleged perpetrators of the attack on Moscow’s Crocus City Hall in a video. The terrorists want to prove their involvement.

The Crocus City Hall close Moscow is completely destroyed. Rescuers and emergency services are still busy cleaning up and searching for victims. On the night of the attack, a faction of the jihadist group Islamic State (IS), known as ISIS-K, claimed responsibility for the incident. A Telegram channel associated with the militia announced that IS warriors had “held a significant gathering […] on the outskirts of the Russian capital “Moscow”. Pictures of the suspected attackers were later posted on the propaganda channel, with their faces blurred out.

But the Kremlin directed its investigation in a different direction. In his speech on Saturday afternoon, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the incident a “barbaric terrorist act.” He assured that anyone who supported the attackers will be investigated and “held accountable.” Putin attributed the perpetrators to Ukraine and stated that the attackers were on their way to Ukraine, where an opportunity for them to cross the border had been arranged.

Video with “exclusive scenes” from Moscow is intended to prove IS involvement

As the “Time” reports, IS has now once again underlined its involvement in the terrorist act with a video that shows the alleged perpetrators. The video was also published in the Telegram channel in question, in which the letter of responsibility had already appeared.

“Zeit” writes that the video lasts around 90 seconds and shows “several armed terrorists whose faces were obscured and whose voices were distorted, presumably during the attack.” Scenes of people being shot can be seen as well as the killing of a seriously injured person. According to Die Zeit, the surroundings match other photos of Crocus City Hall.

National mourning in Russia, owner of the “Crocus City Hall” promises reconstruction

According to current information, at least 133 people were killed in the attack on the concert hall, and the “Crocus City Hall” was completely destroyed by fire. The state news agency Tass recently reported 152 injured, including five children. Many are said to be in critical condition. The attack is considered the worst act of terrorism in Russia in over 20 years.

President Vladimir Putin declared a national day of mourning for this Sunday. The company that owns the concert hall that burned down in Friday’s deadly attack pledged to rebuild the building. “We will never forget those who fell victim to the terrorists. What was destroyed by the dirty hands (of the terrorists) will be restored,” said Crocus Group.
