Morocco wants to host the final in its new stadium in Casablanca

The 2026 World Cup, which will be played in the United States, Canada and Mexico, is far from having started and we are already talking about the final of the 2030 World Cup, the organization of which has been entrusted to Portugal, Spain and Morocco (with some matches in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay). Thursday, on Radio Mars, Faouzi Kekjaa, the president of the Moroccan Football Federation, indicated that he wanted the final to be played in his country:

“We hope to experience an extraordinary final, which honors the entire continent and the young generations, in a stadium in Casablanca which will be extraordinary and wonderful. » A final which would not take place in the current Mohammed-V stadium, where Raja and Wydad play, but in a new stadium which would be built for the World Cup in the economic capital of the country.

Faouzi Kekjaa also explained that Morocco had presented at least six stadiums to Fifa, in Agadir, Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier and Fez, but that other sites could also be added: “The host stadiums that we are going to present , will not only take into account the requirements of Fifa, but will also benefit from cultural diversity and geographical richness. »
