Viewers and spectators for the GP Explorer. Nearly 40,000 spectators were present on Saturday in the stands of the Le Mans circuit to attend the first edition of the GP Explorer in which Youtubers participated on F4s, announced the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO).
“The first edition of GP Explorer, a race that brought together 22 digital content creators on the Bugatti circuit, was won by Sylvain Vilebrequin. This event brought together nearly 40,000 spectators, ”said the ACO, which organizes the races on the prestigious Sarthe circuit, on its website.
Over a million viewers on Twitch
“A world first widely followed on Twitch. The Squeezie channel has also recorded an audience record with more than one million viewers, a historic record in France,” added the ACO. After having competed in free practice and qualifying on Saturday morning, the 22 drivers competed in a race of fifteen laps.
Squeezie, who has over 17 million YouTube subscribers and the instigator of this race, placed fifth. Concerts by Bigflo & Oli, Myd and Bianca Costa enlivened the afternoon before the start of the race, which took place at 5:00 p.m.
