Now is the time to demand to have a law that is up to the challenges, ”slips Grégory Doucet the mayor of Lyon, who came to join the procession a few minutes before returning to his offices. “The law provided by the government would reduce 6 to 10 million tonnes of CO2 per year but it would require a reduction of 110 million tonnes. The European Union even asked that the target of a 40% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 be revised to 55%. Above all, there is a lack of realism on the part of the French government, ”laments the elected ecologist.
“My children are aware that nature is fragile”

His children do not yet understand the whole situation. “I am careful not to have a scary speech but they are already aware that nature is fragile”, she continues.
Juliette, 25, has been interested in ecology for “a long time”, but she “really realized the urgency of the situation 2 or 3 years ago”, she explains. And to add: “I do not have the impression that the government is doing something for the environment. Or at least, these are not superficial decisions. “
A few meters further on, Clément is accompanied by his boy.
