Evacuations have been decided in hamlets south of Hostens and in the town of Saint-Magne. For firefighters, the day was tough: a truck and three light vehicles were destroyed by fire, but “no injuries” are to be deplored. “The situation is very unfavorable,” commented the Girondin firefighters. “We are keeping all the means available on the ground for the whole night. »

According to the mayor of Hostens, the fire would have started along the departmental road D5, which connects Saint-Magne to Hostens. “He skipped the departmental road, won Hostens, found himself in the departmental domain of Hostens and followed the lake of Bernarda before crossing the cycle path. As a precaution, we evacuated the districts of Haudoua and Frayot. That is around fifty people relocated with relatives, ”explains Jean-Louis Dartiailh who does not hide his questions about the origin of this new fire. “He leaves by the roadside, in a green area. We can assume that it is still a voluntary departure. It’s exhausting, ”laments the chosen one. The firefighters set up their command post at the Landiras school, the Hostens stadium once considered having finally been abandoned.

At 5:30 p.m., the decision was made to evacuate three new districts of Hostens to the departmental domain of Les Gravasses, Hauts du lac, Galipes and Bruyères. The fire crossed the D3 towards Belin-Béliet. Around 7 p.m., two new localities in Hostens were evacuated: they are Canet and Samion, to the south of the town.

The D5 departmental road is closed to traffic, the RD 651 between Hostens and the Hazera road (D111E1) to the north (in the direction of Cabanac-et-Villagrains) as well. The RD 110 is closed between Hostens and Louchats.

Between Landiras and Cabanac-et-Villagrains

A second fire concerns the South-Gironde: it took on the edge of a forest track, at the limit between an area already burned and an area still green, between Landiras and Cabanac-et-Villagrains, about an hour after that of Saint -Magne/Hostens. At 4:30 p.m., it concerned 20 hectares. The fire causes and circumstances recognition unit, which brings together a firefighter, a gendarme and a forestry expert, was called in to examine these two disasters.

15 hectares burned in Saint Helena, the fire fixed

Finally, the firefighters are also mobilized on a third fire in Gironde, in the Médoc: at 3:45 p.m., a fire broke out in the town of Sainte-Hélène. At 4:30 p.m., he had covered 15 hectares of pines at the Chemin de Taussac. The air resources which carried out several drops in South Gironde (two Canadair, two Dash and two water bomber helicopters) were sent to Saint Helena.

The fire was set around 6:15 p.m., which allowed the road to Lacanau to reopen after its temporary closure. In the end, 100 firefighters were deployed, as well as two Canadairs, two Dash and a water bomber helicopter.

In Soulac and Saint-Michel-de-Castelnau

This Tuesday morning, the fires that have occurred over the past 48 hours in Soulac, in the Médoc and Saint-Michel-de-Castelnau, on the Lot-et-Garonne border, are now extinguished.
