The city wants to create better conditions for street art and graffiti in Munich. In a cross-party motion, the Greens/Pink List, SPD/Volt, CSU/Free Voters and Die Linke/DieParty call for a significant increase in the number of available walls. In order to achieve this goal, the municipal department, education department and building department should check all walls for which they are responsible for their suitability for these urban art forms. In addition, the municipal department should create replacements for walls that have already been designed if they are lost due to renovations or conversions.
The application also provides for the artists to be involved from the start. In this way, the needs of the scene should be taken into account. This applies above all to the question of different types of use of walls for established artists, for example in the form of a “Hall of Fame”, or the provision of practice areas for young talents, as stated in a statement by the Greens/Pink List.
