PLOUF – Often, nothing goes as planned. Diver Alexis Jandard, France’s hope for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, knows something about this. During the inauguration of the official Olympic aquatic center, which took place this Thursday, April 4 in the presence of Emmanuel Macron in Saint-Denis, the divers of the French team demonstrated their talent. It is in this context that Alexis Jandard made a monumental fall on the diving board, immortalized by the television channels which broadcast the event. A scene which was immediately spotted and shared everywhere on social networks:

The main person concerned seems to laugh about it and not take it badly. “It’s still a lot more entertaining…” answer anyway his X account (formerly Twitter) to one of the videos of the moment posted by the Fédé de la Lose, an account which celebrates “France which loses”.

Contacted by HuffPostdiver Alexis Jandard reassures: “No injuries, everything is fine!” My ego is suffering but the rest is doing very well.” He confirms to us that he will be “ back to training this afternoon ” after this “ weakness on [sa] leg » : « Nothing extraordinary but it comes at an inopportune time “.

Although he was fortunately not injured, the fall still left some marks if we are to believe an image posted by a person working for the French Swimming Federation, and present on site:

Among the many reactions posted online, a franceinfo journalist remember tactfully : “we can laugh, but we don’t make fun.” A line that is sometimes clearly difficult to maintain, even if the mockery was mainly aimed at… the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
