The German Council of Economic Experts handed over a new economic forecast with drastically reduced figures to the federal government this Wednesday. The four wise men expect growth of just 1.8 percent, compared to 4.6 percent in November. They estimate inflation at 6.1 percent, down from 2.6 percent in November. The new growth forecast for 2023 is 3.6 percent. But co-author Monika Schnitzer, economics professor in Munich, sees great economic and social dangers for Germany.
