Monika Maron says that until a few years ago there was an estate in the open countryside somewhere in the north of Berlin, not far from the Polish border, a stately building with a portal decorated with columns, a park and a wide view of the landscape. Through an unexpected inheritance, this newly renovated building came into the hands of Katharina, a retired veterinarian from the city.
