About forty departments on heatwave yellow vigilance. A large part of France, especially in the center and west of France, is on yellow alert due to high temperatures. “A worsening cannot be completely excluded in certain departments currently placed in yellow”warns Météo-France.
Heights never reached. Temperature records were broken on Monday in many cities in France affected by the heat wave, including Poitiers (Vienne), La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime), Limoges (Haute-Vienne) and Aix-en- Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône), announced Météo-France.
A significant temperature difference with the average. It is 7°C warmer than the average temperature measured on September 4 between 1971 and 2000. This difference is even 11.2°C in Nevers (Nièvre) and 10°C in Clermont-Ferrand (Puy -de-Dome).
