Activision has officially announced Season 4 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty Warzone 2.0. Already on Wednesday of the coming week, i.e. on June 14th, the time has come and the new content will be launched. Which is it? The publisher gave the players at least a little insight in a blog post on the official CoD homepage. Of course, all fans can count on new maps, weapons, operators and game modes for the shooter.

Season 4 brings this content to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0

The new map for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is Vondel. The map is described as “the port district of a European baroque city, where centuries of history mix with modern architectural developments”. It seems that Amsterdam served as a template. Accordingly, players can look forward to gunfire in and around the narrow canals of the city. There will also be six additional multiplayer maps at the start of the new season.

The new operator Nikto is also closely associated with Vondel. According to the description, he is “ready to rule this city”. In addition to Nikto, five more operators will be introduced over the course of Season 4.

More news on the topic:

The new mode is called Lockdown and will be playable for a limited time at launch. The gaming experience is said to be similar to that of Hardpoint, but with games that are about twice as long. In addition, there will be new functions for the resurgence modes. These include an automatic timer and a revenge system that shows a player’s location when they kill a teammate.

The exact innovations and patch notes will be published shortly before the release of Season 4 on June 14th. A full-fledged Call of Duty is waiting for the fans again this year, even if there have been rumors to the contrary in the meantime. The title of the game, which is set to be unveiled on August 1st, is apparently Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
