Mocked on social networks, these plates by Christophe Leroy are very authentic

“Tell me it’s a fake”, “it’s not possible” … Many Internet users have expressed their amazement and their disbelief about pictures of meals posted by Christophe Leroy on his Instagram account. Pasta with prawns, endives with tuna and ginger, bites that seem hastily prepared… Internet users were many to point the finger at the hazardous setting of the plates and a menu that is not very original.

These dishes have been scrutinized on social networks because the chef, who runs the Leroy’s Business Club, is the cook of some of the events organized by Pierre-Jean Chalençon, who found himself this weekend at the heart of a controversy for having organized clandestine dinners during the curfew – which an art collector is defending himself today.

This gap between the prestige of the menus and the presentation of the dishes aroused the disbelief of Internet users, who, for some, doubted the authenticity of the images.

FAKE OFF

These presentations of dishes are however authentic. They can be found on Christophe Leroy’s Instagram account. The gnocchi with truffle sauce have been there posted March 5. The macaroni with prawns date from November 28. As for the endives with tuna and the appetizers served in small spoons, they have
been uploaded last summer.

Christophe Leroy opened Leroy’s Business Club in 2020, not far from the Champs-Elysées. This is a space that can be privatized for dinners or evenings. The menu y cost from 80 to 180 euros, according to a food critic.

An association, which has since deleted its site, posted on February 1, photos of a lunch which would have been taken at the club, without specifying the date.

The most recent photos on Christophe Leroy’s Instagram account date of March 27 and 28, showing tables set with chocolates for Easter. On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, the chef
had posted photos of food, without specifying whether it was take-out.
