Mobile stage in Markt Schwaben – music, poetry and magic in the fresh air – Ebersberg

The culture is alive! The theater association Markt Schwaben invites you to nine events on the last two weekends in July. Ferdinand Maurer, who has been a director and author on the organizing team of the “Weiherspiele” for several years, is delighted to hear that the association has succeeded in putting such a program off the ground. It’s not the big elevator like the Weiherspiele on the lake stage, but the theater club is back with alternatives that are worth seeing and hearing after 17 months of play-free time. “It was our aim to offer the broadest possible range that included as many styles as possible,” explains Maurer.

The forecourt of the old fire station will replace the festival stage, currently up to 1000 people are allowed to take part in events in the open air, although there shouldn’t be that many in Markt Schwaben. However, as Maurer explains, up to 180 guests can be seated here, at individual tables with two to four seats, in order to be able to keep the rules of distance between the groups.

The theater association is one of five cultural organizers in the district that came together in the second spring of the pandemic and launched the “cultural summer in the district 2021”. The most important element of the initiative launched by the director of the Grafinger Stadthalle, Sebastian Schlagenhaufer, is a mobile stage that will now be used in the market town on the last two weekends in July. In addition to the town hall and the theater association, the old cinema in Ebersberg, the Moosacher Meta Theater and the scrap gallery in Glonn belong to the group of organizers who benefit from federal and district funding for their “new start in culture”. This is intended, explains Maurer, above all to secure the artists’ fees, but also to provide financial security for the organizers, who have to reckon with a significantly smaller audience due to the pandemic.

At the end of May, the funding was promised – and not only was there great joy, but also about the new cooperation with the other cultural locations in the district, says Maurer, who hopes to be able to maintain this in loose form even after the pandemic.

One of the highlights of the Markt Schwabener program will certainly be the second Friday of the game week, Friday, July 30th – which is already noticeable in advance sales, as Maurer reports. Under the motto “Markt Schwaben sounds” there will be a reunion with old friends: The songwriter and vocal duo Elke Deuringer and Hermann Bogenrieder will present “The best of 37 years of theater music”. Accompanied by a specially put together band, in which Maurer will also be present on the piano, Weiherspiellieder and titles from musical productions from the Theater am Burgerfeld will be heard.

For the opening of the open-air summer on Thursday, July 22nd, Thomas Steinbrunner from the Theaterverein organized an evening with music and poetry, including the duo Flonoton and the winner of the 2019 Markt Schwabener City Poetry Slam Bert Uschner. What the audience can expect on Friday, July 23, is not yet very clear, because on that evening with Nudism and Offense Two groups will meet who are dedicated to improvisational theater: Some are well-known in the east of Munich right up to the district of Erding, the others, including the Grafingen actress Birgit Quirchmayr, are often seen guests in the Munich hurdy-gurdy. “Unbelievable” is the motto on Saturday, July 24th, when the award-winning Ebersberger Florian Otto is a guest with his Bavarian magic show and under the motto “There is nothing where there is nothing” will make his audience laugh and be amazed. All three events start at 7.30 p.m. A little earlier, at 3 p.m., families will get their money’s worth with Margit Sarholz and Werner Meier from Ottenhofen and theirs on Sunday, July 25th Shooting star-Songs. “A refrigerator goes for a walk” is the name of the program “in which the” pretzel-walker gang “goes in search of two missing breadcrumbs.

With Joe Heinrich and his hand puppet “Der Wolpert” it will be cabaret on Thursday, July 29th (again at 7.30pm). Heinrich, known from the BR show “Quer”, brings the guitarist Marco Pagnin to Markt Schwaben and reveals, among other things, why Bavaria is the best country in the world and also who is a dork – so we can be curious. After “Markt Schwaben sings” on Friday evening, it will be on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. SM! LE musical again: eleven musicians who met 25 years ago to perform at events such as the Federal Press Ball in Berlin or the German Film Ball in Munich, play hits from funk and soul, reggae and swing, the current charts and many more. The market chapel finally has a big appearance again, with a morning pint on Sunday at 11.30 a.m. And finally, on Sunday afternoon, the little ones can go to the theater again: people four and over are welcomed Clown Pippo at 3 p.m. on the stage in front of the old fire brigade.
