Mobile communications – Oppo stops selling mobile phones – economy

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo has stopped marketing its phones in Germany after defeats in court in the patent dispute with Nokia. “Product information is currently not available on our website,” says the company’s German website. An Oppo spokesman also emphasized on Tuesday that the company does not want to leave the German market. On Friday, the Munich district court found that two Nokia patents, which form the basis of mobile communications standards, had been infringed upon. Oppo had previously lost in court in Mannheim. Nokia sued Oppo after a patent agreement expired.
