A year ago, a couple of doctors was stabbed to death in Mistelbach near Bayreuth. Before that, they had taken in a young man. Now the court has pronounced a verdict – and processed an act that is difficult to understand.
So there they come, two young people in white sneakers, hoods pulled low over their faces. A stuccoed hall with green walls, Bayreuth district court. The cameras of the many journalists click. The accused sit down at a long table, with the defense lawyers in between. The judge says: “There have never been so many tears in this hall.”
