Six-year-old Arian from Bremervörde has been missing for more than a week. The police now focus primarily on investigative work. This includes numerous information from the population.
The police have received hundreds of tips about the boy since the search began, a police spokesman said on Thursday. This week, too, the officers received many tips via email and telephone. The investigative group named after Arian evaluates these and traces and tries to formulate hypotheses about what could have happened on the day of his disappearance and how likely the respective scenario is. “It’s always very important that you don’t focus too much on one direction and lose sight of something else,” said Heiner van der Werp from the Rotenburg police station.

Police: “Maybe there is still a miracle”
The police have not ruled out finding the six-year-old alive. “Maybe there will be a miracle in the end,” spokesman van der Werp said recently. It could be that the child was hiding. Arian may also have fallen into the Oste River, said the spokesman. The flow rate is currently high. The police have already searched the Oste and other smaller bodies of water in Arian’s home town of Elm several times with boats and divers. In the meantime, searches are being carried out on an event-related basis. If necessary, emergency services could be brought together again very quickly, according to the fire department.
Last major search operation on Sunday
On Sunday, the largest number of emergency services to date had searched for the autistic boy: a 1,500 meter long human chain had once again combed the entire area from the town of Kranenburg to Elm. “We threw everything into the balance,” said van der Werp afterwards. The police then stopped large-scale operations.
Arian has been missing since April 22nd
The autistic boy has been missing since the evening of April 22nd. His father reported to the police. A search was immediately launched and continued and expanded throughout the past week. Because Arian does not respond to being spoken to because of his autism, the emergency services are advised by an expert. The boy had left his parents’ house in his socks, only lightly dressed in a long-sleeved shirt and trousers. According to the police, around 800 people from the fire department, the Bundeswehr, the Technical Relief Agency, the German Life Saving Society and the police were on duty every day.
Police are asking for information
The police in Bremervörde have set up a tip line. Anyone who has anything to say about the boy’s whereabouts is asked to call Telephone number (04761) 7489-135 or -144 Report to.
