Ukrainian President Discusses “Strengthening Air Shield” With Canadian Prime Minister
Volodymyr Zelensky had a telephone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday about strengthening the “Ukrainian air shield”he writes on Telegram.
“ First, we talked about security issues. I informed Justin about the Russian strikes in our towns and villages: constant missile terror, Shahed strikes”specifies the Ukrainian president. “On New Year’s Eve and the next day alone, our air defense forces managed to destroy more than 80 attack drones, but unfortunately there were also strikes in the regions of Sumy, Odessa, Lviv , Poltava, Kiev, Donetsk and Kherson, which caused damage to civilian property. »
“I am grateful to Justin for his willingness to contribute to strengthening the defense of Ukrainian skies, in particular for the provision of [missiles] Additional Nasams (…). I am also grateful for the assurance that next year Canada’s assistance to Ukraine will continue, both in terms of what is needed for our forces on the battlefield and financially.”, he adds, without specifying what his interlocutor promised him. Since the start of the Russian offensive, Canada has committed to providing military aid of more than 1.3 billion euros to Ukraine.
