Miscellaneous – Justice | Le Pontet: the robbers of the octogenarian couple arrested in the Gard

The three men, authors of a car-jacking last night at the Pontet cemetery, were arrested in the Gard by the gendarmes. Around 4 p.m. yesterday, this armed trio violently held up a couple of octogenarians who had come to meditate at the graves of their relatives in Pontet. The man and woman were attacked by three men who emerged with their faces covered by clothing and threatened them with a gun. Their car, a Peugeot 307, was subsequently stolen.

The three men abandoned their terrorized victims and then headed for the Gard where they committed a series of armed robberies, notably in Remoulins and Bezouce. The gendarmes of the Groupement du Gard deployed an important device made up of about thirty men to stop the criminals as quickly as possible. It was when they reached the Super U of Marguerittes that the trio was arrested in the evening. The suspects are currently in custody. Their auditions are just beginning.
