Minimum wage: it’s good that the traffic light intervenes again – opinion

The minimum wage is on the way, it went through the cabinet on Wednesday. And it doesn’t look like anyone else can stop this project. The SPD, the Greens and the FDP set this project in motion fairly quietly; Despite fierce criticism from business associations, the FDP has not allowed itself to be tempted to slow down. From October onwards, more than six million employees can count on the government-mandated minimum hourly wage of twelve euros. This is especially good for the SPD, whose chancellor Olaf Scholz can keep his promise from the election campaign. But is that good for the country?
