The first Trailer for the Netflix film “Damsel” shows Millie Bobby Brown (19) in her new role as Princess Elodie. The fantasy adventure can be seen on the streaming provider over the next year. It tells the story of a young woman who is supposed to marry the handsome Prince Henry (Nick Robinson). However, this is a trap set up by the royal family, who want to feed Elodie to a fire-breathing dragon. She ends up in the monster’s cave and fights for survival.

Actress Robin Wright (57) and her colleague Ray Winstone (66) take on the roles of the evil in-laws, while Angela Bassett (65) plays Elodie’s stepmother. The film is directed by the Spaniard Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (55). Filming for “Damsel” began in February 2022. Like many other films, production was temporarily affected by the Hollywood double strike.

“Damsel” is not a classic film in which a beautiful princess is saved by a brave hero. The main female character is completely on her own during her fight with the dragon.

Millie Bobby Brown will probably not only be seen in the fantasy film next year. Filming will soon begin on the final season of the series “Stranger Things,” through which the actress became known worldwide. The final episodes are expected to be released in 2024.

Based on the “Damsel” screenplay by Dan Mazeau (“Wrath of the Titans”), author Evelyn Skye has written a novel of the same name that has already been published. The author published the book in collaboration with Netflix. Skye posted a video on Instagram, on which she signs copies for the “Damsel” cast.
