After a technical problem with a rocket launcher on a military ship in Denmark, the Ministry of Defense gives the all-clear.

After a technical problem with a rocket launcher on a military ship in the port of Korsør in Denmark, air and sea traffic in the area has been reopened. There is no longer any danger that the rocket launcher on board the Danish frigate “Niels Juel” will fire a projectile, the Defense Ministry said.

Yesterday, specialists took care of the rocket launcher, which suddenly could no longer be deactivated after a mandatory test. The experts checked, among other things, whether it was an activation of the launcher or an electronic error message.

Because of the incident, there was a risk that a missile could be fired for several hours. The crews of ships moving towards the danger zone have been warned and asked to wait until the problem is resolved. The airspace in this area was also closed.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the danger area was an estimated five to seven kilometers from the Korsør naval base on the Great Belt, i.e. near the junction of the North and Baltic Seas.
