A journey full of hope ends in tragedy: a girl loses her life during her family’s attempt to flee to Britain.

A seven-year-old girl died when one capsized in northern France Refugee boat killed. A total of 16 migrants set off by boat in the morning on a canal in the hinterland of Calais in order to reach the English Channel from there to travel to Great Britain, the newspaper “La Voix du Nord” reported, citing the police prefecture.

The girl was on the boat with her parents and three siblings. Her family survived the accident like the other migrants. They were looked after in a gym and provided with dry clothing. The police questioned the adults and opened an investigation.

For a long time, many migrants have been crossing the English Channel to Great Britain in rubber dinghies from the northern French coast. Migrants repeatedly die during crossings organized by smugglers.

Just last week there was one death and two people missing in the floods. France is also combating migration that is unwanted by the British government with financial support from London. The fact that migrants are now setting off on waters in the hinterland of the English Channel could be related to this more intensive surveillance of the coast, as the police reported.
