War is still raging in Ukraine – and many of the people who had to flee the violence in their homeland are now making use of the integration offers in Germany.

According to a media report, the Federal Employment Agency has so far approved 14,400.0 integration courses for Ukrainian refugees. The editorial network Germany (RND) reported that 52,000 of them had already started their course, citing a status report by the authority.

Almost 900,000 citizens from Ukraine have entered Germany since February 24, the beginning of the Russian war of aggression. By the end of June, 353,424 refugees from Ukraine had registered with employment agencies, job centers and other municipal offices, of whom 265,153 were of working age between 15 and 67.

Refugees from Ukraine have been entitled to Hartz IV benefits since June 1st. This means that people who fled to Germany before the Russian war of aggression can also be advised by the job centers and put in contact with applications.

According to the RND report, the federal agency has not yet calculated costs. The situation report shows that the Ministry of Labor will have to apply to the Minister of Finance for additional funds for the current year.
