A man got into the Mangfall during a celebration in the Miesbach district, was swept away by the river and drowned. The 39-year-old has been missing since Sunday evening and was found dead the next day, as the police announced on Tuesday.
He had celebrated with several men on Sunday evening around 8.15 p.m. near a weir. For unknown reasons, he got into the water and was swept away by the strong current. His companions failed to pull him out of the water. Rescue workers searched well into the night – but initially without success.
On Monday around 1 p.m., helpers could only rescue the man dead. So far, there have been no indications of third-party debt for the investigators.
