An emergency call about a masked gunman triggered a major police operation in Middle Franconia on Friday morning. As the police announced, the initially unknown person later turned out to be a 14-year-old youth with an airsoft gun.
Since the masked man was seen near two kindergartens and an elementary school in Colmberg (Ansbach district), the police responded with a large contingent including a helicopter.
According to the information, the officials secured an airsoft gun from the 14-year-old, who was dressed in military optics. The police are now investigating, among other things, possible violations of the gun law. The operation ended after about two hours. The operation of the school and the kindergartens could be continued according to the information.
