In Frankfurt am Main, the police used a water cannon against demonstrators who had gathered for a pro-Palestine demonstration despite a ban. Several hundred people also demonstrated in Bochum against the war in the Middle East. Pro-Israel and pro-Palestine demonstrators faced each other just a few meters apart. They were separated from each other by police officers and barriers. According to police, the protests here were largely peaceful. The situation in Berlin, however, is different. There were several pro-Palestinian demonstrations here despite the police ban. There were repeated scuffles between the police and the demonstrators. According to police, demonstrators threw stones and bottles at police officers, injuring some police officers. The situation was tense and several arrests were made.
