A Palestinian youth is said to have been killed by Israeli soldiers during renewed unrest in the West Bank. Dozens of Palestinians threw stones at the forces.

According to Palestinian sources, Israeli soldiers shot and killed a 16-year-old boy near Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank during confrontations.

The youth was shot in the chest, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said. According to the Israeli army, dozens of Palestinians threw stones at the forces. After they did not stop despite warning shots, suspects were shot at, it was said. The reports of a death are currently being examined.

The security situation in Israel and the Palestinian territories has long been extremely tense. Again and again there are clashes between Palestinians and the Israeli military in the West Bank. The army has been conducting raids there since a series of attacks.

On Friday afternoon, the Israeli army arrested a wanted Palestinian in the northern West Bank city of Jenin. Israel’s army accuses him of being involved in attacks against Israelis. At least four Palestinians were injured in the clashes, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa.

Since the beginning of the year, 98 Palestinians have been shot dead during Israeli military operations, confrontations or after their own attacks. During the same period, 17 Israelis, one Ukrainian and one Italian were killed in attacks.
