Israel attacks Hamas posts for fourth day in a row

There have been riots at the Gaza border almost every day these weeks. Concerns about a major conflict are increasing.
After violent unrest on the border In the Gaza Strip, Israel’s military attacked a military post belonging to the ruling Islamist Hamas for the fourth day in a row. The military said in the evening that the post was near the riots where shots were fired at Israeli soldiers.
In addition, the army arrested two suspects who are said to have tried to cross the border from the Gaza Strip into Israel. The two were therefore handed over to the security forces for questioning.
Unrest has been occurring almost daily at the Gaza border for almost two weeks, fueling fears of a new major conflict. During the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur, which began yesterday evening and ended in the evening, the border crossings to the Gaza Strip and the West Bank were completely sealed off for security reasons. Israel’s military says it has increased its troops on the border.
According to the UN, more than two million people live in very poor conditions in the Gaza Strip. Hamas, classified as a terrorist organization by the EU, USA and Israel, violently seized sole power in 2007. Israel then tightened a blockade of the coastal area, which Egypt supported.
