The Israeli army has fired on several targets in the neighboring country after six rockets were fired into the Golan Heights. Syria reports property damage.

After further rocket fire from Syria, the Israeli army said it attacked targets in the neighboring country again during the night. Three more rockets had previously been fired from Syrian territory in the direction of Israel. Two of them struck “in Israeli territory” during the night, and another missile was intercepted by Israel’s missile defense system. It was not immediately known where exactly the rockets hit.

According to military sources, the Israeli air force fired at the Syrian rocket launchers that fired the rockets during the night. In addition, the Israeli Air Force announced that it had hit a military site belonging to the Syrian army, as well as radar systems and artillery posts used by the army.

Intercepted several missiles

Israel’s attacks on several locations in the south of the country caused property damage, Syria’s state news agency Sana reported. Several missiles from the neighboring country were intercepted.

According to Israeli military reports, three rockets were fired from Syria on Saturday evening at the part of the Golan Heights occupied by Israel. The Israeli army said only one of them fell in an open field in the southern part of the Golan Heights. The other two rockets apparently did not reach Israeli territory. Israel’s army responded by saying that it fired on Syria during the night.

Heavy rocket fire from Lebanon hit Israel on Thursday. Israel blamed the Islamist Palestinian organization Hamas for the attacks and then launched aerial attacks on militant Palestinian bases in the neighboring country to the north and in the Gaza Strip. Numerous rockets were also fired at Israel from the Palestinian territory on the Mediterranean Sea.
