Now Bill Gates has also got it: The 66-year-old multi-billionaire can only attend a meeting of his foundation virtually because of a corona disease.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates has been infected with the corona virus. The 66-year-old said on Twitter that he had mild symptoms and would remain in isolation until he was healthy again.

“I’m lucky to be vaccinated, boosted, and have access to testing and great medical care,” Gates wrote. The Gates Foundation is meeting on this day for the first time in two years and he is lucky to be able to attend the meeting online via the Teams app. “We will continue to work with partners and do everything we can to ensure that none of us will ever have to deal with a pandemic again,” Gates promised.

The foundation, which Bill Gates runs together with his now separated wife Melinda, has so far donated more than two billion dollars to prevent and fight the pandemic, especially in poorer countries. In his new book, too, he looks to the future. It says in German: “How we can prevent the next pandemic”.
