Even after her Oscar triumph, the shower of awards for Michelle Yeoh does not stop. She is now receiving the Women in Motion Award in Cannes.

Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh (60) will be honored with the Women in Motion Award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The star of seven Oscar-winning multiverse masterpiece Everything Everywhere All at Once will receive the trophy during the Women In Motion gala dinner at next month’s prestigious festival, as reported by “The Hollywood Reporter” among others. Previous winners of the award, which was launched in 2015, include acting legends Jane Fonda, Susan Sarandon, Isabelle Huppert and Viola Davis.

Michelle Yeoh is ‘convinced times are changing’

In an official press statement, Yeoh was “very moved” by her honor. “I am convinced that times are changing,” added the 60-year-old. “It’s imperative that women – in front of and behind the camera – continue to play roles and tell stories that reflect the diversity and complexity of the world,” Yeoh continued.

Yeoh was the first Asian woman to win an Oscar for Best Actress at the last Academy Awards. In recent months, the actress has also received a Golden Globe Award, a SAG Award from the US Screen Actors Guild and a Spirit Award for her performance in the award-winning “Everything Everywhere All at Once” – among a number of other awards.
