Michelle and Eric Philippi are a couple despite the big age difference – the two pop stars sing about it in “Falsch Dich zu Liebe”.
Pop singer Michelle (51) recorded a duet with her life partner Eric Philippi (26): Already today, Friday, December 1st, 2023, The single “Falsch Dich zu Liebe” was released.
According to a press release, the autobiographical ballad tells of a couple with a large age difference. The first verse says: “People openly stare at the two of them / They’re an attractive couple / The fact that he’s younger than her – that’s a scandal here / Some people can’t handle it.” The rest of the song emphasizes love against all odds: “If loving you is wrong / There’s nothing right in the world / Everyone knows that only love matters.”
In April 2023, Michelle and Eric Philippi announced their relationship in a show by Florian Silbereisen (42). The age difference of 25 years had repeatedly caused negative comments in public. From 1999 to 2001, Michelle was in a relationship with the musician Matthias Reim (66), and the couple has a child together. Before that, the singer was married to the pop singer Albert Oberloher (61). The two also have a child together.
“Wrong to Love You”: TV premiere with Florian Silbereisen
Now Michelle and Philippi are back on stage at Silbereisen: According to the press release, the love duet will celebrate its TV premiere on December 2nd on the ARD show “Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights”.
Michelle had recently announced the end of her career. In an interview with the “Bild” newspaper She said in October that she no longer wanted to be “in this toxic environment.” The musical confirmation of these plans followed shortly afterwards with the ballad “That’s it for me”.
As Michelle also told “Bild”, she is planning a final album – “my life’s work” – which will only contain personal songs. Both their farewell song and their love duet are precursors to this “farewell album,” as it is called in a press release. The pop star also wants to go on a farewell tour.
