Metro lines 6, 8 and 13, poor punctuality performers in September

84% punctuality is not enough! Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) publishes its barometer every month with the “production rate” of each RER, metro and transilien line, according to requests made to operators, namely RATP and SNCF. While the RER B is regularly in the sights of the regional transport organizing authority, several metro lines also offered a degraded service in September. In the back pack, we find lines 6, 8 and 13, struggling, alongside RER B and C.

To calculate this punctuality rate, IDFM takes into account the percentage of trains actually in circulation compared to the offer requested by contract from operators. And in September, their barometer indicated that half of the metro lines had not reached the ordered train supply. The organization is asking the RATP for rapid improvements, Valérie Pécresse wrote a letter to Jean Castex, the boss of the RATP. For the moment, no further data has been communicated.

In detail, the best performers on the metro side are the two automatic lines, 1 and 14, 5 and 9, which exceeded 100% compared to the ordered supply. But lines 4 and 10 in particular have suffered a significant drop in their rates compared to July. According to the RATP, the cause is passenger incidents, the phenomenon of parcels forgotten in trains and stations and very degraded rolling stock.
