At the César Film Awards in February, she spoke about sexual violence and abuse in the French film industry. It triggered a new MeToo wave in France.

The Frenchwoman Judith Godrèche is showing a short film about sexual violence in Cannes. This was announced by the film festival’s press office. The actress and director has filed charges of abuse against two well-known directors. At the César Film Awards in February, she spoke about sexual violence in the French film industry. It triggered a new MeToo wave in France.

The film “Moi aussi” tells the stories of people who have become victims of sexual abuse. It will be shown at the opening ceremony of the “Un Certain Regard” section on May 15th with free admission.

The 52-year-old said that after her speech in February, numerous people affected contacted her. The festival wrote that she packaged their personal reports into “an intimate audio and visual landscape” for the film; around 1,000 people were involved.

After numerous allegations of sexual assault in the French film industry became known France’s National Assembly recently created a commission of inquiry into the situation of minors in certain cultural areas. Godrèche also suggested this.
