Meteo France places the English Channel, Seine-Maritime and Pas-de-Calais on orange alert strong winds

The weather will not be good this Wednesday in the Manche, Seine-Maritime and Pas-de-Calais. These three departments have indeed been placed for the day in orange vigilance violent winds by Météo-France due to the passage of the storm Noa.

Strong gusts will mainly sweep these coastal departments of the Channel this afternoon, where they can exceed 100 km / h. The weather will be particularly rainy, with sleet and strong gusts in the north of the territory.

In addition, it will rain this morning from Pays-de-la-Loire and Poitou-Charentes to the northern borders. During the morning, the rains will progress towards the south and will extend from Aquitaine and Limousin to the northeast quarter. Ahead, a thick veil of cloud will invade the south-east of the country. It will be accompanied by some gloom on the shores of Languedoc and Paca. At the rear, unstable weather will already take over in the North-West with sunny spells interspersed with showers and gusts of 70 to 90 km/h in the coastal departments.

This afternoon, the rainy weather will sink in southern Aquitaine, the interior of Occitanie, Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, Franche-Comté and Alsace. Precipitation will increase near the Jura and the Alps. Snow will fall from 1,200 to 1,400 m altitude on the Pyrenees. In the northern Alps, the rain-snow limit will be around 2,000 m, before dropping to around 1,500 m in the evening. Along the Mediterranean, the tramontana will rise and reach 70 to 90 km/h in gusts, the veil of altitude will eventually give a few scattered showers in the evening.

Warmer temperatures around the Mediterranean

On the northwestern half, the unstable weather will become widespread with increasingly frequent showers, sometimes thunderstorms and sleet. These showers will be accompanied mainly by strong gusts of wind up to 80 to 100 km / h inland and by the sea.

In terms of temperatures, it will be between 5 and 9 degrees in general, 8 to 12 on the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts. Maximum temperatures will reach 10 to 15 degrees over the northern half, 14 to 18 over the Southwest and another 20 to 24 near the Mediterranean.
