MetaMask has stopped working for a while due to Infura experiencing a service outage.

MetaMask Crypto Web Wallet Stopped Working Momentary Due to a service issue with Infura, the Ethereum infrastructure provider, recently the issue was resolved and it’s back to work.

Infura stated earlier that “We are aware of the downtime for some of our ETH1, Palm, Optimism, Polygon, Filecoin and Abitrum APIs. which is temporarily unavailable And we are currently investigating to determine the root cause and fix it.”pageInfura status

An additional update on the status page states that Infura developers have identified the root cause and are working on a fix.

And most recently, Infura states that all systems are back up and running.

Infura is MetaMask’s default remote procedure call (RPC) provider, acting as an interface for MetaMask to interact with the blockchain, in this case Ethereum.

Ethereum fees are dropping sharply. as a result of Infura outage byinformationAs gasprice.io shows, the transaction fee has dropped from about 100 gwei ($6) to around 20 gwei.
