There are delays and train cancellations on the railway line between Frankfurt and Stuttgart. According to the railway, the reason for this is metal theft. It is not the first case this month.

At Deutsche Bahn, a number of long-distance trains between Frankfurt and Stuttgart were canceled due to metal theft. There are train cancellations and delays in long-distance transport.

The theft was discovered in the morning on the route between Mannheim Central Station in Baden-Württemberg and Lampertheim in Hesse, said Deutsche Bahn (DB). Accordingly, the problem should probably not be resolved until the evening. Further details are not yet known.

The DB expects delays and partial cancellations in long-distance and regional transport, it said. According to the information, all ICE trains between Frankfurt and Stuttgart and individual ICE trains between Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Munich were affected. The DB expected delays on the Frankfurt – Mannheim route. Passengers are asked to inform themselves before their journey.

It is the second case this month: At the beginning of February there was metal theft on the ICE route between Frankfurt and Cologne. The section of the route had to be closed for the duration of the repair work. There were disabilities.
