Turkish third division club Corum FK recently announced that a famous footballer wants to buy the club. It is said to be Mesut Özil.

Mesut Özil is apparently planning to buy the Turkish third division club Corum FK. That reports the Picture on sunday.

Corum President Fatih Özcan gave up his post during the week and let it be known at a press conference: “A world-famous player from Turkey is interested in buying the club.” This is supposed to be Özil.

Corum is currently in sixth place, but has the goal of playing for promotion to the 2nd division.

Mesut Özil: Contact to Corum FK through teammate Kahveci

President Özcan wants to see 20 million Turkish lira for the club, which is the equivalent of around 1.3 million euros. For Özil this should be feasible with an annual net income of three million euros.

“The contact came through Irfan Can Kahveci, who plays with Özil at Fenerbahce and comes from Corum. He called Özcan and asked about the details,” quoted the Picture on sunday Corum captain Umut Kaya.

Özil has been playing for Fenerbahce since January 2021. In Istanbul, the 2014 world champion still has a contract until 2024.
