Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV: electric car with maximum luxury

It remains to be seen whether an extremely luxurious SUV with a wheelbase of 3.2 meters will still fulfill the mission of the environmentally friendly turnaround in traffic. The fact is, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV shows how incredibly luxurious electric mobility can be. After Mercedes had already provided an extremely decadent means of transport with the EQS, the first Stromer from Maybach now follows.

Performance like an AMG, comfort like a cozy bed

So that no one complains that the carriage might not have enough power, Mercedes-Maybach equips the car with a drive that directly competes with the AMG counterparts: 658 hp (484 kilowatts), 950 Newton meters of torque and an acceleration of 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in a crazy 4.4 seconds leave nothing to be desired. The top speed, on the other hand, is capped at 210 km/h, and Mercedes-Maybach has given the maximum range as 600 kilometers for the time being. It is charged with a maximum of 200 kilowatts.

For a Maybach, of course, these are all secondary events, because it’s all about how comfortable you are. If you drive yourself, the car spoils you with a 1.41 meter wide display in the cockpit and opulent seats, which together with plenty of space ensure that long journeys should not be a problem. But that assumes that you want to drive yourself.

Fancy a champagne in the back?

If you can drive and see yourself more in the rear, you can take a seat in the so-called lounge. Here you will find quasi armchairs, which offer various massage functions depending on the selected equipment. Coupled with 11.6-inch displays and champagne glass holders, pardon champagne glass holders, there should be very little lacking. Of course, all this requires the appropriate small change and the choice of some expensive additional packages.

From the outside, the vehicle does not fail to indicate at every conceivable point that it is a Maybach. Company logos can be found everywhere on the car in almost exaggerated numbers, and the exclusive two-tone paintwork is also reserved for the luxury SUV.

In the luxury world, when you have to ask the price, it’s often said that you can’t afford it. Information on this will follow sooner or later – Mercedes-Maybach has only kept a low profile so far. “Car picture” assumes that the basic version of the car will break the sound barrier of 200,000 euros. Quite possible, because the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+, with the appropriate equipment, easily enters this price range – and Maybach is the ultimate .
