Mental hygiene: These ten habits are balm for the soul

Mental health is becoming more and more the focus of society – and rightly so. At least since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the number of people affected in Germany has been increasing continuously. There are many offers of help, but real therapy places have become a scarce commodity, waiting times of half a year are no longer the exception. Mental hygiene starts a step earlier: it can help us to keep our psyche healthy. If we already have psychological problems, mental hygiene can also help us to do something good for our mental health ourselves. Essentially, the concept of mental hygiene consists of three components: self-kindness, shared humanity and mindfulness. This results in ten habits that are good for our psyche in the long term.
