After the members of FC Bayern were given exclusive privileges for admission tickets for 24 hours, the tickets are now available “for everyone”. The tickets are free, but are urgently required for organizational reasons. You can on the homepage of the Munich football club can be ordered online. A maximum of four cards will be issued per person.

In order to really fill the stadium, it is also expressly stated: “The club asks everyone to only order as many tickets as they actually need, so that as many people as possible can be there on this special day in honor of Franz Beckenbauer he gets a dignified farewell.” In this way, companions and fans should be able to “say goodbye to the ‘Kaiser’ in a unique, emotional setting in his FC Bayern stadium, the home of his club.”

The process

The website also states that FC Bayern consciously decided to hold a celebration in the Allianz Arena. Among other things, because Beckenbauer “always had a heart for everyone,” “and therefore as many people as possible should have the opportunity to say goodbye to him.”

It starts at 3 p.m. with a “ceremonial event with speeches from companions and dignitaries as well as musical contributions.” In addition to the fans, Beckenbauer’s friends and companions from national and international sports, culture and politics are expected. The event will take place “in the circle of the Bayern family” with everyone who Beckenbauer has “moved over decades as a player, coach, president and unique personality”.

A small limitation

To everyone who wants to combine a visit to the memorial event with a tour of the arena, FC Bayern would like to let you know that no tours can be offered on that day. And the FC Bayern Museum will also remain closed. The FC Bayern Store opens when the stadium opens for the commemoration ceremony.

TV broadcast on First

If you can no longer get tickets or prefer to watch the television at home given the expected sub-zero temperatures, you should note the date for the broadcast of the memorial service for Franz Beckenbauer on January 19th from around 3 p.m. on Erste and in the ARD media library. Special broadcast with Günther Jauch on RTL

RTL and ntv will also be broadcast, as the two broadcasters announced in a joint press release about the planned “program change” on Monday (January 15th). Accordingly, the RTL special “Farewell to the Emperor – Funeral Service for Franz Beckenbauer” will be shown from 2:50 p.m.

Moderator Florian König (56) will lead through the special program, and Günther Jauch (67), a long-time companion of Beckenbauer, will also be there at his side.

Franz Beckenbauer died on January 7th in Salzburg at the age of 78. Last Friday he was buried in Munich in the closest circle.
