Mélenchon denounces the “junction in fact” between Macron and the far right

The leader of the Insoumis Jean-Luc Mélenchon denounced Saturday evening the “junction in fact” between the macronist camp and the far right, castigating “a rancid collection of all the reactionaries” which according to him was consolidated during the riots.

“Nothing will stop the Macronist drift and the junction / competition with the far right, apart from the victory of the Nupes”, writes on his blog Jean-Luc Mélenchon, in a note denouncing at length the concept of “republican arc” , often invoked by the Macronist majority and which would exclude the Insoumis.

“The permanent announcement” of “the next victory” of the RN

“Unable to formulate this junction aloud, for it might crumble the block of the so-called ‘center’, they [les macronistes et LR] build a junction in the facts. Its food is the dominant discourse aligned with the far right, its words its values, its registers”, assures the Insoumis, castigating both the word “decivilization” used by Emmanuel Macron, and the words “ethnic regression”, used by the boss of senators LR Bruno Retailleau.

According to Jean-Luc Mélenchon, this de facto alliance is expressed in “the demonization of the RN” and in “the permanent announcement of its imminent victory”.

“The sidelining of LFI” “as a common denominator”

“But the strongest thing is the sidelining of LFI which functions as a common denominator. It is their binder, their reason for mutual voting in the second round, ”he notes.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon also returns to the recent riots, following the death of young Nahel in Nanterre, killed by a police officer. “Nothing, absolutely nothing, nor any of the causes at the origin of the revolt will have been dealt with, no words will have been addressed to popular suffering except harsh and implacable repression”, he laments.

“A festival of racist statements”

The Insoumis pinpoints in this sequence “the entire alignment of the parties of the so-called “republican arc”, this rancid collection of all the reactionaries, on the positions of the RN”, even evoking “a festival of racist declarations”.

And the former deputy, who sees it as a movement at work throughout Europe, warns: “when the ‘republican arc’ and ‘national reconciliation’ coalitions have crushed everything around them, the various nationalisms of the various countries will make their return”.

Internal differences

Jean-Luc Mélenchon also reserves a few arrows for his Nupes allies, whom he accuses of relying on their internal differences, particularly in view of the next European elections that the left is approaching in dispersed order.

“The PCF has already declared Nupes dead. The Greens (…) want several lists “to have more elected members”, the PS announces a list of “all socialists”. They know exactly what they are doing and they can’t say that they don’t understand what would result from that”, Jean-Luc Mélenchon annoys.
