It looks like former First Lady Melania Trump created her first NFT, that is. Head of State Collection on the 11th of January and put it up for auction Sold for 5.8 million baht (1,800 Solana), a month later it appears to have been discovered that she was the buyer herself.
As noted in Solana’s blockchain (SOL), the winning bidder is the same address that created it. Although going through a very complicated process, Solana is a public blockchain, just like Ethereum and Bitcoin, meaning anyone can find information on NFT sales.
Melania Trump’s website reveal that the digital address of the buyer is 497Zu5gfWSv4VNsoQfjixWXQZmKZ2pDzkVSASDBqnFL2 The address received 1,800 SOL funding from Melania’s own NFT-generated address.
The actions of Melania Trump and her employees are often referred to in the crypto world as “wash trading.” Twitter user zachxbt published an analysis showing that the NFT creator was the winning bidder.

- 01/23/2022 – 39ui sends 473,657.64 USDC to 3CTu.
- 01/25/2022 – 3CTu converted 166,900 USDC to 1816.08 SOL using Raydium (Solana Decentralized exchange) and a few minutes later 3CTu sent 1,799.5 SOL to the 497Z.
- 01/26/2022 – The 497Z auctions an NFT for 1,800 SOL and wins.
- Later that day, the creator of the NFT 39ui claimed 1,800 SOL and sent it back to 3CTu.
- 01/29/2022 – 3CTu converts 1,800 SOL to 168,313.24 USDC using Raydium.
- 02/08/2022 All USDC is on 3CTu account and NFT is on 497Z account.
