Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are said to have gotten help from Miranda Barbot to work up their image. The PR consultant worked with Barack Obama on his re-election.

Prince Harry has a good relationship with Michelle Obama in particular, and Duchess Meghan and the President’s wife get along brilliantly. In 2019 she was interviewed by Meghan for British “Vogue”, which was responsible for a special edition at the time. When Meghan and Harry recently performed together at the Invictus Games, they were joined by Christopher Sanchez, a former Obamas bodyguard. Not the only employee of the former presidential couple that the Sussexes are said to have hired.

According to various media reports, the two are said to have hired Miranda Barbot. The PR expert was on the team behind Barack Obama’s re-election. Now she should work for Meghan and Harry’s company Archewell and help the Sussexes with their PR matters. The recruitment fuels rumors again that Duchess Meghan has political ambitions. “There are similarities to the Clintons or even the Kennedys. It wouldn’t be a big shock now if Meghan went into politics,” an insider told British newspaper The Mirror.

Last year, Duchess Meghan got involved in a political debate in the United States about state-funded parental leave. Her peerage gave her access to the telephone numbers of high-ranking senators, discussed with them and also spoke publicly on the subject. A little later, Prince Harry’s wife defended her engagement on a talk show in the “New York Times”.

political ambitions

“I think it’s one of those things that’s neither red nor blue,” she said, referring to the traditional colors of competing parties in the US, red for Republicans and blue for Democrats. “We agree that people need support, especially when they’ve just had a child,” Meghan said. From her point of view, paid parental leave is simply a humanitarian issue.

The credo traditionally applies to the British royals: they are not allowed to position themselves politically or express themselves. A rule that the Sussexes no longer have to strictly adhere to after the Megxit.
