Meeting in Birmingham: Kate keeps a promise with earrings

Princess Kate (41) and husband Prince William (41) attended the Royal Foundation Youth Forum for young people in Birmingham this Tuesday (October 10). At the event came according to the British “Daily Mirror” 100 young people came together and discussed how they deal with emotions. The royal couple spoke to them and Alex George (32) – former “Love Island” contestant, doctor and British ambassador for youth mental health – about the mental health challenges of the younger generation.

Kate wore a bright yellow blazer for her appearance and paired it with a black sweater and black pants. However, the focus was on her star-shaped earrings. She was given this as a gift last June. She visited Maidenhead Rugby Club where she was presented with the earrings by coach Sarah Renton. Their daughter Issy committed suicide at the age of 17. Her cousin made the jewelry in memory of Issy. During the emotional encounter, Kate had promised to wear the earrings, which she now fulfilled.

The topic is close to the Royals’ hearts

“Mental health is very important to both of us,” Kate said of herself and her husband in her speech at the forum, according to the Birmingham Mail. “William and I believe that as a society we must do everything we can to help young people develop the emotional and social skills they need for good mental health. […] We can choose to see our emotional world and psychological well-being in a different light, we can normalize them and recognize them as something we all have and need as human beings.”
